Celtic stand high chances of signing Christopher Scott because of a possible £20 million impeding deal between Ajax and Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga champions are reported to be on the verge of announcing Ryan Gravenberch’s acquisition from Ajax, leaving Scott out of favour at Allianz Arena.
The 19-year-old Scott has a playing style compared to former French international and Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. He is said to be considering his future at Bayern, with Celtic coming in as his next destination.
Since joining the Bundesliga outfit from Bayer Leverkusen, Scott has been struggling for playing time at Bayern Munich. He made his debut for Bayern under the tutelage of Hansi Flick in 2020/21.
He has, however, failed to make an appearance lately. With his time at Bayern proving difficult, the teenager looks set to leave the German club.
According to the Daily Record, Scott is reported to be pondering his future with Celtic showing interest in his signature and setting aside £250,000 to complete the move.
This will depend on Gravenberch’s predicted move to Bayern Munich. Fabrizio Romano believes Gravenberch will sign a five-year deal with Bayern, handing Celtic a major boost in their race for Christopher Scott.
Departing Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag also commented on the issue.
“Gravenberch? Definitely! It would be tough job for him because there’s a lot of competition at Bayern,” Erik ten Hag tells Sport1.
“He can certainly adapt to such a high level of quality as at Bayern. You saw that in the Champions League too, because that’s where he always played his best games.”
