Despite Kepa Arrizabalaga’s improved form, Chelsea are ready to sell the Spaniard this summer.

Under Thomas Tuchel, the £71 million goalkeeper has regained his confidence, and the Champions League winners believe this has increased their prospects of obtaining a large amount for him.

Even despite Kepa’s recent form, Edouard Mendy remains the first choice, and there are no intentions to replace him.

Chelsea are expecting offers at the end of the campaign, as the 27-year-old is expected to seek regular first-team action ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

Last summer, he would have been able to depart, but a lack of offers and Chelsea’s unwillingness to let him leave on loan or as a free agent kept him as Mendy’s backup.

He’s been outstanding in that duty, particularly in Chelsea’s World Club Cup semi-final triumph over Al Hilal on Wednesday, when he made two important second-half saves to secure a 1-0 victory.

Tuchel, meanwhile, is said to be seriously considering reinstating Mendy for tomorrow’s final against Palmeiras.

Mendy has returned from his country’s African Cup of Nations triumph, posing a big problem for Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

Mendy is thought to be deserving of his spot, with some inside the club saying that leaving him out only because of his participation in the AFCON would be akin to punishing him.
