Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has agreed with the fact that Ben Davies has been having an amazing Premier League season.

Spurs have overtaken Arsenal into the Premier League top four places, with Davies being part of the force behind Tottenham’s resurgence.

Tottenham have won three of their last four league matches and taken 10 points from a tricky schedule that included Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal.

The 29-year-old Whales international was part of Tottenham Hotspur’s team that beat Burnley 1-0 to keep their next season’s UEFA Champions League hopes alive on Sunday.

“I think he is having an amazing season. I think this position is perfect for him. It happened the same with Azpilicueta when I was at Chelsea, if you remember when we started to play at three at the back, he became one of the central defenders,” Conte told BBC.

“Ben Davies is playing in a fantastic way like Dier and don’t forget Sanchez, he has played two amazing games for Romero,” the former Chelsea and InterMilan boss added.

Earlier reports from London suggested that Tottenham Hotspur were planning to sign a new centre-back ahead of the summer, but Ben Davies has given Conte a reason to rethink his decision.

Conte is a winner and will apparently be seeking to build his playing unit right from the back, trying to seal visible loopholes in the entire team. He arguably has Ben Davies in his future plans at Tottenham Hotspur.
