After 12 successful new signings, Steve Cooper remains active in the summer transfer market, currently aiming for Rangers’ midfielder, Glen Kamara.

90min’s report yesterday (July 31st) revealed that the Reds are interested in the 26-year old, whose prowess in the midfield is deceptively similar to Cooper’s latest signing, Mangala.

Kamara is on the “want list” of numerous European clubs for his brilliance in Rangers’ midfield last season, among them EPL sides Bournemouth, Brighton and Hove Albion and now Forest.

The 2020/21 Scottish Premiership champions will reportedly release Kamara for 10 million sterling pounds, hundreds of times the amount they paid to sign him three and a half years ago.

Termed “superb” by former boss Gerrard, and likened to Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira by another former coach, Neil McCann, the midfielder will be a great addition to Cooper’s side, and his price is one within their limits, so Forest have a good fighting chance.

With numerous rivals for his signature, most of whom are higher-placed in their domestic leagues than a newly-promoted Nottingham, the latter will face a difficult task in luring Glen to the City Ground.

But Cooper has been lucky with new signings this season, so he might still have something up his sleeve to beat his opponents for the 2021–2022 Europa League finalist’s signature.
