Deal collapses to hand West Ham new chance to sign free agent
The collapse of Daichi Kamada’s deal presents West Ham with an unexpected opportunity to sign the free agent who impressed and outperformed Declan Rice in a past match.
West Ham has yet to secure a player during the summer transfer window and is in dire need of midfield class and quality after Rice’s departure.
During the Europa League semi-final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt last year, Kamada stood out as the star player, leaving a lasting impression on West Ham.
Since then, the club has shown keen interest in acquiring the talented Japanese midfielder, especially after Frankfurt confirmed his departure on a free transfer.
Initially, it seemed that Kamada was headed to AC Milan, but recent developments have led to the collapse of that deal. Milan is now pursuing a different target, Samuel Chukwueze.
This has opened up a fresh chance for West Ham to pursue Kamada, an opportunity they should not pass up.
For West Ham, signing Kamada would be a logical and advantageous move. He is an exceptional player with excellent attributes – age, speed, agility, and the ability to play creatively between the lines, which is something the Hammers are in need of.
Moreover, Kamada’s work rate and contributions off the ball make him a well-rounded and valuable addition to the midfield.
Technical director Tim Steidten, who has knowledge of German football, could further support West Ham’s pursuit of the player.
