Newcastle United have been offered to make the signing of their target, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, from Everton, according to Football Insider.

The striker had initially attracted the interest of former Premier League winners Arsenal, but the Gunners are believed to have turned their attention to Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.

It is reported that the Magpies are looking for a center forward capable of scoring more than 20 goals in a single season, with Calvert-Lewin emerging as their favourite.

Newcastle United are said to have held talks with the striker’s representatives as they edge closer to making their formal bid for the Toffees, trying to lure the striker to St James Park next season.

It is estimated that Calvert-Lewin will cost Newcastle United a sum of £45 million, with Everton open to do business. The 25-year-old has been helpful to Everton in their English Premier League survival campaign.

Calvert-Lewin’s contract at Goodison Park runs until the summer of 2025, but he could leave for Newcastle as the side only recorded 44 goals from their 38 Premier League games in 2021-22. This is despite signing Chris Wood from Burnley in January.

However, Calvert-Lewin has been struggling with injury setbacks lately. He featured in just 18 matches for Everton in all competitions this summer.
