Bruno Guimaraes may sit out Wednesday’s match against Liverpool, according to Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe.

Howe claimed in remarks from the Newcastle Chronicle that Bruno had a niggle that prevented him from playing in yesterday’s draw with Wolves.

“He has a slight niggle and I don’t think it’s anything serious. We hope he won’t miss too much. Liverpool might be too soon,” said the Magpies coach.

For Newcastle, the Brazilian is a crucial player. Although they do have alternative options, it would surely be a major loss if he were to miss Wednesday night’s game at Anfield.

Following Liverpool’s 9-0 victory on Saturday, the two teams will play again on Wednesday. Being back at Anfield will benefit Liverpool after such a successful weekend performance.

As The Reds attempt to properly begin their season, the atmosphere should be enjoyable under the lights.

Even without the £40 million Bruno, Newcastle will be a rather difficult test. They have yet to lose in the Premier League this year, and last weekend they really worried Manchester City.

Liverpool, however, ought to be on top. They will try to win every home game because they can’t afford to lose too many more points in the early going of the season.
