According to El Bobble, Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright has expressed his views on Rafa Benitez’s future to owner Farhad Moshiri.

The Spaniard’s future at Everton, according to the Toffees insider, is in the hands of a British-Iranian businessman.

After Everton’s 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on 12 December 2021, the dependable Everton insider – who is followed on Twitter by The Times journalist Paul Joyce – tweeted an update on their account.

They said: “Everton Chairman, Bill Kenwright, has made his feelings clear to Farhad Moshiri.

“Rafa Benitez’s time at Everton Football Club now lies in the hands of Farhad Moshiri.”

Everton’s board of directors has recently changed, with Marcel Brands as director of football and Gretar Steinsson as head of recruitment and development both going, but little has changed on the pitch, and Kenwright would have been upset with what he saw at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

The Toffees owner has made it clear that he wants to back Rafa in the transfer market, which means he may have to wait until next year to decide on his future.

However, if the boss wants to be under less criticism at Goodison Park in the future, the results must improve, and that will be his sole job this season.
