Everton ‘considered’ Ange. The circus begins again

Big update on next Tottenham manager, Celtic deal agreed

Celtic supporters were only waiting for the expected speculative pieces linking Ange Postecoglou with a transfer to The Toffees after Everton fired Frank Lampard.

It’s both foreseeable and unsurprising, but I suppose the only aspect of this article that surprised me was that it was the Daily Mail and not the typical Scottish media sites who published it this morning.

That and the length of time, but hey, it is difficult to take a fresh stance on old news to make it seem current.

When it became clear Frank Lampard was nearing the end of his career in November, Ange was “linked” to Everton.

The link was as predictable as it was stupid, and now that Lampard has left, according to the Daily Mail, with Celtic poised to meet the Merseyside club in the Sydney Super Cup,

“While Bielsa is firm favourite, the Toffees have also reportedly considered Postecoglou along with former Burnley boss Sean Dyche and West Ham’s former Everton manager David Moyes.”

Everton has gone through nine different managers since Moyes left in 2013, including football greats like Ronald Koeman, Carlo Ancelotti, and Rafa Benitez.

I don’t see why Ange would leave a bigger, more stable club like Celtic for unpredictability and mayhem.

And the ironic thing is that Ange would be able to turn Everton around and make them a potent EPL team.

However, the Celtic manager may have a point at Paradise. He will eventually leave us, but not until he makes the decision, and he will be leaving for a much better and larger club than Everton.
