Everton could still make a loss even with the anticipated sale of their highly rated star, Richarlison.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees will not make a profit should Richarlison leave Goodison Park in the transfer window. The particular print outlet claims that if the Brazilian’s wages were added onto the £35 million fee, potentially rising to £50 million, it could be above his sale price.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in the move for the Brazilian but can only raise £50m for the South American services.

In his column for the Liverpool Echo, Chris Beesley explains why Richarlison’s business may not be profitable for the Merseyside club in the coming days;

“Now that really would spoil the transfer window for Everton,” he wrote. “Given that they paid £35million for Richarlison, potentially rising to £50million, that could leave them with barely any profit after four years’ service for the club.

“It seems insulting that Goodison chiefs would be prepared to let him go now for such a minimal increase.

“If Richarlison’s wages over the past four seasons are taken into account, then such a price could even potentially represent a loss.”

Meanwhile, Richarlison has emerged as a cult hero at Goodison Park after arriving from Watford. Everton are advised to hike the asking price for him to at least £60m based on his prowess before the goal.
