As a result of numerous setbacks to key players this season, Everton have struggled to gain some consistency in their team.

As a result, the club is now fighting a relegation battle, and Frank Lampard has added to the woes with his latest injury update.

After Yerry Mina was forced off against Newcastle United in early February with an injury, the Toffees manager addressed the media in his pre-match press conference to provide an update on the team’s injury situation.

It’s inevitable that Lampard will become frustrated with the team’s defensive issues as the season progresses and the team’s relegation worries grow worse.

With Mina in the team, Everton have won five of their six games so far this season, and his absence will be a major setback for the Toffees.

Lampard told the media:

“Mina is a few weeks away still, at best, so that one is slightly parked. He’s working very, very hard, so that’s good to see.”

Lampard has fewer options in the backline after Jonjoe Kenny was sent off against Wolves for picking up two yellow cards.

With Eddie Howe’s side having lost once in their last four league games, the 43-year-old boss must instill confidence and resilience in his team if they are to win.

That being said, Lampard must put out his strongest team possible in order to secure the three points necessary for avoiding a relegation battle at Goodison Park.
