The English Premier League team Everton are plotting to complete the signing of the Real Madrid duo comprising Isco and Luca Jovic in January, according to Defensa Central.
The Toffees are keen on bolstering their squad after the Merseyside club was restricted to flex muscles in the summer transfer window occasioned by the Financial Fair Play rules.
The Rafa Benitez side spent only £1.7 million in the window and nagging injuries in the squad have revealed how the Royal Blues lack depth.
Despite spending to sign Demarai Gray, Everton is evidently in need of experience, even after the arrival of Andros Townsend, Salomon Rondon, Andy Lonergan and Asmir Begovic on a free transfer.
Everton are also reported to be following up with a possible signing of Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal in January.
However, it could be difficult for Benitez to acquire the services of Isco as the Spanish star’s contract with Los Blancos runs up to 2022.
A move to another Spanish club will also be more likely as Isco looks for a long-term deal rather than a loan spell.
Meanwhile, Everton have options upfront with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Salomon Rondon all available for Benitez to choose from.
The Toffees are currently fifth in the English Premier League standings with 13 points in six outings.
Everton beat Norwich City 2-0 at Goodison Park over the weekend to keep next season’s Uefa Champions League qualification hopes alive.
Their next league assignment is a tricky fixture against Manchester United on Saturday in an early kickoff at Old Trafford.
