The Toffees are reportedly looking to sign Luka Jovic from Real Madrid this summer.

According to a story in the Serbian newspaper Blic (06 April, page 30), the 24-year-old has fallen out of favor at the Santiago Bernabeu and Real Madrid want to get rid of his £83,000 weekly salary.

An estimated fee of around £25 million is expected to seal the deal, according to the report. Madrid is even willing to loan him out in order to relieve themselves of his salary obligations.

Toffees manager Frank Lampard wants to bring him to Goodison Park, and he had also previously expressed an interest in signing him for Chelsea. To get the striker, he needs to make sure he gets it done this summer.

A Spanish media outlet claimed last month that Everton tried to sign Jovic in January, but they were unsuccessful.

When Real Madrid signed him from Eintracht Frankfurt, they spent around £50 million on him. For the Blancos, he has yet to start a La Liga match and has appeared in just 13 games from the bench.

Regardless of whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison remain at Goodison Park, Everton will require a new striker in the summer.

Considering his failure at Real Madrid, signing Jovic might be a risk, but given his age, transfer fee, and talent, it’s a risk worth taking.

Everton, on the other hand, must put their transfer plans on hold for the time being and concentrate solely on staying in the Premier League.
