Everton are not in a rush to choose Carlo Ancelotti’s successor, as they consider their alternatives ahead of a ‘major decision.’

Eight days after Carlo Ancelotti’s startling departure for Real Madrid, the Blues’ power brokers think they are making good headway in their search for his replacement.

Everton are currently considering a small number of potential new managers, and it is said that there isn’t much to pick from among the names the club has identified.

Despite the tough predicament in which Ancelotti’s departure has placed the club, the Blues are careful not to rush into choosing a new manager, and want to make sure they have done their homework before making what is being referred to as a “big decision.”

Everton is looking for their fifth permanent manager in as many years, but no decision is expected any time soon.

Nuno Espirito Santo, the former Wolves manager, has been contacted and looked to walk away from talks with Crystal Palace earlier today.

Everton are reportedly interested in Brighton manager Graham Potter, but no formal interest has been expressed at this time.

A slew of other names, like Christophe Galtier and Rafa Benitez, have been connected with the Blues position.
