Everton now in talks for attacker, he is a Champions League record breaker

Antonio Nusa is being considered as a potential summer signing for Everton.

According to Belgian publication Voetbalkrant, Everton are interested in securing the services of Club Brugge ace Antonio Nusa. Talks have begun between the two clubs to see if a deal is possible.

Everton are desperate to add attacking firepower to their ranks, and have endured a frustrating summer so far.

The 18-year-old may not be someone who Sean Dyche would look to to have an immediate impact at Goodison Park, but the Toffees have recognised the youngster’s huge potential.

Nusa is already a key player for Club Brugge. He made 34 appearances for the Belgian outfit last season in all competitions, netting twice and producing 2 assists.

One of his strikes came on his Champions League debut, away against Porto. He became the youngest player to score on his first appearance in the competition’s history.

He has already shown considerable versatility. Nusa’s game time last season was fairly evenly split between either flanks and taking up a central role in the attack.

Of course, this would be a signing Everton would make with the future in mind. Dyche’s immediate priority needs to be on ensuring he has a squad capable of avoiding another relegation scrap this season.

However, if the opportunity to do a fairly cheap deal for Nusa is there, the Merseyside club shouldn’t pass that chance up.

Progressive, forward-thinking transfer moves such as this have been in short supply at Everton in recent years. Nusa could well be a future star for the English side.

With Anthony Gordon having moved on last season, there is certainly room in Dyche’s squad for a youthful attacker to come in and push for minutes on the pitch.

Nusa still needs to add plenty to his game. The Norwegian under-19 international needs to become more clinical in front of goal. All the raw ingredients for an excellent player are there in the teenager, though.
