Kerry Mayodi
Reports have it that more departures will continue at Everton following Carlo Ancelotti’s shocking exit earlier this week.
The club has confirmed the departure of four senior players who will be out of contract by the end of June following the decision not to offer them new contracts.
Muhamed Besic
Besic is the longest-serving Everton player of the four after signing for the Toffees from Ferencvares. He was brought to the club by Roberto Martinez in July 2014 and has enjoyed only 56 outings with the club.
Yannick Bolasie
The Congolese international is one of Ronald Koeman’s first signings after he left Crystal Palace to join the Merseyside club in August 2016.
The former Palace player was brought in for roughly £25 million. He made only 32 appearances for the club, the last one coming in May 2018.
Joshua King
King arrived at Goodison Park in February for a nominal fee and has made only 11 appearances for the club all of which he came in as a substitute. The striker has failed to find the back of the net in his time at the club.
Theo Walcott
Having signed from Arsenal in January 2018 for £20 million, he has spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at former club Southampton and has agreed to a permanent deal offered to him by the club.
Robin Olsen
Swedish stopper Olsen featured in 11 games for Everton after joining the club in October as a loanee from the Italian side Roma. The club has made it clear that they have no intentions of giving him a permanent deal.
Academy departures
Also departing are under-23s players Josh Bowler, Dennis Adeniran, Matthew Pennington (who has already made his Shrewsbury loan permanent), Con Ouzounidis, Callum Connolly, and Bobby Carroll.
Nathan Broadhead, Ryan Astley, and Joe Anderson have all been offered new deals, while Everton has taken the option to extend Kyle John’s contract until June 2022.
From the under-18s, Daniel Lowey, Jack McIntyre, and Dylan Thompson have been let go, while Liam Higgins has had his scholarship extended for the third year.
