Fabrizio Romano says £25m player is about to sign for Everton on loan

Everton are on the verge of signing Arnaut Danjuma this summer, having failed to land him in January.

The Toffees have struggled to stay clear of the relegation zone for two seasons and need to improve their squad. Sean Dyche is working hard to prepare his team for the new season.

A new forward is a key target for Everton, and Romano has tweeted that Danjuma is close to joining them.

Arnaut Danjuma almost joined Everton in January this year.

The skilful attacker, praised as ‘wonderful’ by Alan Shearer (BBC Sport), wanted to leave Villarreal in the winter window, and Everton looked like his next destination. A deal seemed very likely, but it fell through at the last minute.

Tottenham made a late bid to sign Danjuma on loan, and the 26-year-old accepted their offer. The Spurs stole him from Everton, and the Toffees fans were angry.

After a poor spell in North London, Danjuma is now looking for a new club, and Romano has said that Everton are back in the hunt and a deal will probably be done soon.

He tweeted: “Everton are closing in on Danjuma deal — understand bid has been accepted, here we go soon.

“Understand it’s gonna be loan move. Player believes Everton is best for his career. After January hijack the communication stayed open and now Everton have their player.”

Danjuma is a great addition for Everton.

The Dutchman can play in various positions, such as on the wings, as a striker or a second striker or even as an attacking midfielder if needed.

That will give Dyche a lot of flexibility next season, and he could be the key to avoiding relegation.

It will be curious to see how Danjuma will perform if this deal finally goes through in the next few days.
