Liverpool pulled even on points with Manchester City and Arsenal at the summit of the Premier League after Mohamed Salah showcased his scoring prowess at Anfield, netting twice in a 3-0 victory against Brentford on Sunday.
Salah, with a season total of 12 goals, nine of which were scored at Anfield, maintained Liverpool's flawless home record for the season.
Darwin Nunez, contributing nine assists for Salah's goals, finally found success in breaking the deadlock with a clever pass that Salah calmly slotted into the far corner, initiating the scoring spree in the 39th minute.
Notably, Salah achieved a historic feat by becoming the first player to score in each of Liverpool's first six home league games of a season.
Despite Brentford's efforts, including notable chances for Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo, they couldn't find a way past Alisson Becker, who made crucial saves.
Salah extended Liverpool's lead further by heading in Kostas Tsimikas' cross on the hour mark. Diogo Jota added the finishing touch with a goal 16 minutes from time, securing Liverpool's ninth win and 27th goal from nine games at Anfield in all competitions this season.
Manchester City had the opportunity to reclaim a three-point lead at the top of the table if they secured a victory against Chelsea later on Sunday.
