The Mayor of London has announced that Londoners who sign up for their first Covid vaccination will be given the “golden opportunity” to win tickets to the Euro 2020 final.
One pair of tickets for Sunday’s final at Wembley, as well as 50 pairs for the fan zone in Trafalgar Square, are up for grabs for those who sign up for their first Covid vaccine, according to Sadiq Khan.
Many people expect England to beat Denmark in tomorrow’s semi-final, setting the stage for what may be the country’s biggest football encounter since the 1966 World Cup final.
60,000 people are expected to attend Sunday’s Euro 2020 final in London, where the winner of tomorrow’s play between England and Denmark will face the winner of tonight’s encounter between Italy and Spain.
Those who want to participate in Mr Khan’s program must provide proof of having received their first dosage at a walk-in vaccination center or have scheduled an appointment.
According to a statement from the Mayor’s office, Londoners who post on social media about receiving or booking a vaccine will be entered into the Euros draw twice.
The online draw will take place on Wednesday, with further competition details to be posted on the Mayor’s social media channels this morning.
On what might be a “amazing day for our nation,” Mr Khan characterized the offer as a “golden opportunity.”
“It’s really important we continue to boost the number of young people coming forward to be vaccinated,” he added.
“We are already seeing the big difference that the vaccine is making in our fight against the virus, but the next two weeks are absolutely crucial in ensuring restrictions are lifted. I urge all Londoners to get both doses of the vaccine as soon as possible.”
