Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to have a contract in place for Huddersfield Town player Juninho Bacuna before tonight’s game against Alashkert.
According to The Scottish Sun, a deal might be reached within the next 24 hours.
Even if Bacuna signs today, he won’t be able to play against Alashkert, but Gerrard appears to be pressed for time.
Rangers and Huddersfield are currently negotiating the conditions of the transaction, which could be completed within hours if Gerrard has his way.
Gerrard has acknowledged that Rangers are lacking an attacking midfielder, and Bacuna appears to be the man to fill that void.
Bacuna, 23, is presently on loan from Huddersfield Town since he has not signed a new contract and will be free to depart next summer.
Rangers may now see him as a bargain after he scored five goals and added four assists in 43 Championship appearances last season.
Ross Wilson will now be in negotiations with Gerrard today in the hopes of fulfilling his request, since the Rangers manager does not appear to want to think about the matter after tonight’s game.
