According to The Athletic Glen Kamara is close to agreeing to a new contract with Rangers.

Following a successful season for Rangers and some classy performances at EURO 2020, the Finnish midfielder has been the subject of speculation about his future this summer, with numerous English clubs keeping tabs on him.

His present contract expires in 2023, but the Rangers have taken steps to ensure the security of one of their most prized assets by improving his terms.

Kamara is said to still want to return to the Premier League after graduating from Arsenal’s academy, but it appears that this will have to wait until a later window.

The 25-year-old joined  Rangers from Dundee in January 2019 and has since developed into one of Steven Gerrard’s key players, registering 107 outings for the club.

He was suspended in Tuesday’s Champions League loss to Malmo, but he will be eligible to play in Saturday’s game.
