Respected insider Jacque Talbot has dropped a massive hint pertaining to the possible move of defender Sven Botman from Lile to Newcastle United in the coming season.
Talking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist claimed the Magpies stand high chances of landing the Dutchman at St James Park despite Italian Serie A champions AC Milan also showing interest in the services of the highly rated defender.
Talbot believes Botman’s move to AC Milan will be greatly influenced by who takes over the charges at San Siro in the transfer window.
“I’m told that that will be the case. I think with AC Milan, it sort of depends on the takeover that’s going on there.
“And I think Sven Botman’s probably one of the most exciting centre-backs in European football at the moment, and I think a lot of clubs will have a look at him rather than just AC Milan and Newcastle.”
The 22-year-old will be an asset for Newcastle United after Eddie Howe’s side conceded 62 goals in the 2021/2022 English Premier League season. He is tipped to solidify the defense of the Magpies should the deal be finalized.
Botman is valued at £27m. He registered another fine season in Ligue 1, averaging 4.5 clearances, one tackle and one interception per game in his 25 league outings.
