Former Huddersfield midfielder, Bacuna, hasn’t had it as easy as he thought at Rangers, starting only one game in the two months he has been with Steven Gerrard’s side.

The 24-year old Curacaoan has fought it out with the likes of Kamara, Davis, and Aribio, finally earning his spot in The Gers’ first eleven when they faced Ross County over the weekend. In an impressive 4-2 home win that saw Rangers maintain a 4-point lead atop the table, Bacuna not only had a great game, but scored his side’s third goal.

Speaking after the game, the midfielder admitted that it felt good, and he showed his ability after a long wait. “…it was a great feeling. I’ve been waiting for a long time…but I got my chance and took it,” he stated.

Admitting that there’s a lot of competition given how many options the coach has, Bacuna said the only way was to show your best when your chance comes. “We’ve got a lot of midfielders…the manager each game is going to change some players…make it as hard as possible…when you get your moment.”

After the coming international break, Gerrard’s side play a domestic cup match, and it’s a must-win if they want to erase the bad run they’ve had in such. Speaking of the semi-final game against Hibernian, Juninho wants nothing for his side but a win.

“We need to be at our best…We need to go to the finals.” He stressed that, despite the fierce competition for a spot, he thinks Bacuna has made his mark and praised his display. “He looks like there’s a few goals in him…a really good performance,” Neil praised.
