Paul Pogba has not played a competitive match in 290 days and has not made his second debut for Juventus, despite signing a four-year contract with the team last summer.

Juventus is reportedly considering releasing Pogba from his £28 million contract due to frustrations with his injury issues and behavior.

Pogba rejoined Juventus as a free agent last July on a four-year deal, but it has turned into a disappointment with him still not playing for the team this season. He suffered a serious knee injury and recently had a setback in his recovery.

Pogba has not played a competitive match for 290 days, last playing for Manchester United in a 4-0 defeat by Liverpool on April 19, 2022. His absence and activity on social media has not been well received by the club, and the Daily Mail suggests that his contract may be terminated or he may be sold to a Major League Soccer team in the summer.

The report states that Pogba has disrupted the team dynamic since signing a deal worth over £7 million per season and that his behavior on social media has irritated supporters.

Juventus is facing severe financial pressure and a 15-point deduction for allegations of false accounting, as well as frustration with how Pogba has handled his knee injury sustained during pre-season. Pogba initially refused surgery to play in the World Cup, but the delay in his recovery slowed down his timeline.

Pogba recently picked up a hip flexor problem and manager Massimiliano Allegri revealed this after Juventus’ win over Lazio on Thursday.

Reports suggest that Juventus is considering cutting ties with Paul Pogba after growing frustrated with his behavior and injury issues.

Pogba signed a four-year contract with Juventus last summer, but has yet to make a competitive appearance for the club this season.

The 29-year-old suffered a knee injury during pre-season, which required surgery and recently suffered a setback, leading to his extended absence from the pitch.

Pogba has missed 27 games for Juventus and his activity on social media, including pictures and videos of himself, has not been well received by the club.

Additionally, Juventus is under financial pressure and the delay in Pogba’s recovery due to his refusal to have surgery and his desire to play in the World Cup has added to the frustration.

Pogba may face termination of his contract or a potential sale to an MLS club in the summer.

“Many players have been dealing with long-term injuries,” he said. “[Federico] Chiesa was out for 10 months and Pogba hasn’t played since April. It takes a while to get back in shape. As happened with Chiesa, who had to stop and start again.

“It takes time for Pogba, nobody can work miracles. His body must adapt. We must use him wisely and in the right moment when he will be fit.”
