Rangers defenders Filip Helander and Conor Goldson are listed as “major doubts” for Thursday’s match against Lyon in the Europa League.
Gerrard could be dealt a blow with an injury on the Rangers’ defensive line, according to a recent Daily Record report.
After the game against McDiarmid Park, Gerrard admitted that Helander’s injury did not look good and that this is an early indication that he won’t be playing anytime soon, much less just Thursday.
Goldson was forced to isolate missing the triumph St Johnstone, while Helander was taken off the field in the same game.
This doesn’t bode well ahead of our group game in Glasgow, where we will have to deal with our most difficult opponent first.
So, therefore, a lot of people would simply say to bring in Jack Simpson. He has, however, been omitted from the Bears’ European squad.
However, at the time, the incident didn’t seem like a serious issue, but the club is now preparing for a very important game and that mistake could very well come back to haunt them.
With both Helander and Goldson out, there will be another huge reshuffle.
The Rangers FC manager, Gerrard, and his staff will be looking for answers, and we are optimistic that they discover a solution within the next three days and apply it quickly.
