Lampard reveals major Everton setback, fans will be very worried

Journalist says Tottenham may sign another Everton star

Following Yerry Mina’s injury against Newcastle on Tuesday night, Everton boss Frank Lampard has expressed his concern for the centre-back.

He said: “It’s a quad injury. We’re slightly concerned about it, but we’ll have to assess it over the next few days.

“Obviously losing Ben the other day makes it a double-whammy in an area of the pitch where they’re two big players for us.”

“We’ll have to look at ways going forward to players that come in with the way we set up to move forward. They’re big players for us, but we’ll have to try and find a way to move forward without them at least.”

For Toffees fans, seeing the huge Colombia international go off during a game has become something of a recurring theme, with the defender’s injury record since joining Everton being troubling, to say the least— he has missed 28 matches in the last two years alone.

It’s no surprising fact, then, that Everton were far more shaky at the backline against Newcastle after his first-half withdrawal.
