Everton FC have experienced monumental changes this week, right from the field to the backroom, with the likes of Frank Lampard, Dele Ali, and Van de Beek.
But it will take more than the current excitement for the Toffees to go past 14th-placed Brentford in the FA Cup fourth-round clash at Goodison Park today.
A defeat at home today would be detrimental to Everton, whose hopes in the Premier League this season grow dimmer by the day. Lampard must therefore rack his brains for a line-up good enough to fend off the Bees.
It’s predicted that the former Chelsea coach will make substantial changes in his first eleven, including a possible debut.
The Toffees could go defensive with Mykolenko, Keane and new signing, Patterson, while Allan is expected to start in midfield.
Brentford could be driven to a win by their opponent’s last five defeats in seven at home, and the determination to not exit in this round like the last two seasons. With his new signing, Christian Eriksen has the chance to line up for the Bees after eight months out.
While Lampard won’t have Dele Ali and Van de Beek, who are both ineligible, the Englishman has more than enough experience in the competition, both as a player and manager, which he could maximize to give his side their much-needed win.
