According to Sportsmail, Leeds United attacker Patrick Bamford is a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge after hurting himself against Brentford.

Bamford came off the bench to score the late equalizer in a 2-2 draw with the Bees at Elland Road on Sunday (5 December), but he injured his hamstring celebrating the score.

He has recently returned to action after being out since September, but he could potentially be sidelined for a few days and miss Saturday’s Premier League match against Chelsea (11 December).

Following his 95th-minute goal against Brentford, the Leeds ace raced off to the delight of the crowd, but it looks his joy may have come at a price.

He missed over three months due to an ankle injury he sustained against Newcastle United, with the Whites playing nine league matches without him.

Bamford has not been ruled out of facing his previous club, but things do not appear to be looking good at the moment, and Marcelo Bielsa will provide an update during the pre-match press conference later this week.

It will be a huge setback to the club if he misses the match against Thomas Tuchel’s side, and the club will be hoping he recovers quickly.

However, Bielsa will not push him back into play in order to avoid exacerbating the situation.

After the weekend, Leeds face Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool, and they’d rather Bamford miss only the Chelsea match than risk further hamstring injuries by rushing him back into action.
