Leeds United appear to be on the verge of making their first acquisition of the summer transfer window.

That follows a report from Corriere Di Bologna claiming that the Elland Road club is close to signing Calvin Ramsay, a young Aberdeen full-back.

Leeds have failed to finalize a first-team deal despite the fact that it is the last day of the January transfer window.

They have, however, been associated with several targets, including Ramsay, who has been linked with Serie A side Bologna, according to recent sources.

However, it appears that conditions are improving for Leeds to complete a deal in this market.

According to the most recent update, Bologna has dropped out of the battle for Ramsay, citing Aberdeen’s need for a buy-back clause in the agreement.

As a result, Leeds are thought to be edging closer to signing the 18-year-old and have reportedly made a £3 million bid that includes a re-sale clause.

When you consider who Leeds are lacking at center forward and center midfield, right-back is probably not the most important position for them right now.

On the other hand, it might be argued that they still lack natural cover for Luke Ayling on the right side of their defence.

Ramsay might still be beneficial to Leeds, and considering his potential at such a young age, it would also ensure them a long-term asset.
