Ian Wright, the former Arsenal player, believes that Kalvin Phillips wants to leave Leeds United this summer.

Speaking on The Kelly & Wright Show, he said: “He’s a sought-after player. Phillips doesn’t strike me as a player who wants to play for Leeds. He wants to win things.”

“Leeds need to start putting things in place where they’re challenging for Europe for the likes of him and Raphinha to stay, but I think Raphinha will leave (this summer).” He continued.

Phillips is contracted at Elland Road until 2024. However, with Marcelo Bielsa gone and Leeds in trouble, many are predicting that he may leave this summer.

Last year, the 26-year-old was one of the players who were impressive in England’s run to the Euro 2020 final. Following the tournament, there was speculation that a number of Premier League clubs were interested in signing the promising midfielder.

Even though Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked, the Sun reports that Phillips is ready to sign an extension at Leeds.

As a result of this, the player’s contract negotiations have been put on hold until the summer, according to the report.

With each new contract, you can expect a significant raise in wages. If Phillips does not sign a new deal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Newcastle are all said to be interested.
