Leeds United resume their Premier League campaign on Saturday as they travel down to Southampton.

Bielsa’s struggling side earned their first win of the season in a narrow 1-0 win against Watford in their last match. They will face a Southampton side that is yet to walk away with three points from a match this season.

A series of tough opening fixtures and a long injury list have prevented Leeds from matching last seasons impressive results so far but the win last time out will boost confidence as they head out to Southampton.

Let us take a look at some of the players on the injury list.

Kalvin Phillips

Phillips withdrew from the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers after picking up a calf strain in the win against Watford

Phillips will not be available as he is unable to train this week but the medics at Thorp Arch have said that the injury is not serious and he should be ready to play next weekend.

Robin Koch

Koch has not featured since suffering a pelvic injury in the opening weekend against Manchester United. His return date still remains unclear.

Luke Ayling

Ayling  is ruled out with a knee injury after taking a knock in the draw with Newcastle last month.

“Ayling has a problem in his knee,” Bielsa said before Watford. “Requires simple surgical intervention and sometime after to recover.”

Patrick Bamford

Bamford went down in the match against Newcastle and managed to come back although with a limp.

He has been absent since but has provided an update on his situation

“I imagine in the next 10 days, I’ll be ready to run on it. So I guess when I can start running and change direction normally, I’ll be back with the team probably in a week.”
