According to reports in England, Leicester City have turned down Arsenal’s initial approach for James Maddison.
According to Football Insider, the Gunners have made an offer for England international James Maddison in the hopes of completing a transfer.
The Gunners included Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in a package deal for the 24-year-old this summer, according to the same report.
Leicester, on the other hand, are said to be uninterested in a deal that includes the above-mentioned players in exchange for Maddison.
According to the article, Arsenal have still expressed serious interest in Maddison after the north London club made a formal bid for the Leicester star.
According to Football Insider, Leicester are hoping for a transfer cost of around £70 million, which they believe reflects Maddison’s importance at the King Power Stadium over the last few seasons.
The Gunners are still willing to include a number of players in a move for Maddison.
Last season, the England international scored eight goals and provided five assists in 31 Premier League games, helping Leicester finish fifth in the rankings.
Since joining Leicester for £20 million from Norwich in 2018, Maddison has scored 21 goals in all competitions.
