According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Reds consider AC Milan player Franck Kessie as a possible replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum in this transfer window.
Liverpool FC are reportedly trying to replace the gap left in the midfield by Wijnaldum’s move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to Italian news site Gazzetta Dello Sport, as quoted by The Daily Mail.
According to the same publication, Kessie could be available on a cheap transfer this summer due to the fact that his current contract with AC Milan expires in 12 months.
Several clubs have been made aware of Kessie’s situation at AC Milan ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, including the Reds.
According to the report, Kessie is dissatisfied with AC Milan’s new proposed deal, casting doubt on his long-term future at the club.
The Reds are “especially interested” in Kessie, according to the same report, ahead of further discussions between the player and AC Milan next week.
Last season, Kessie netted 13 goals and provided four assists in 37 appearances for AC Milan.
Since joining AC Milan in 2017, the 24-year-old has netted 30 goals in 184 matches.
