Liverpool is reportedly negotiating a new contract for Salah with the aim of securing his services for a longer term.

While other teams went hard in the transfer market, the Reds chose to focus on developing their young players. They signed just one player in center-back Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

It appears that Salah will be the next player in line for a contract renewal. According to recent reports in The Mirror, the £90 million-rated player is reportedly asking for a £500,000-per-week salary.

The number is currently said to be far lower than that. They want to keep working to extend Salah’s contract, which is set to expire in June of 2023.

The most crucial players on the team are Salah and Van Dijk, and the club will want to conclude a new contract as quickly as possible for the latter.

Van Dijk was recently awarded a long-term deal, on club-record earnings of £220,000-per-week, to retain his place in the starting lineup.

According to reports, the Merseyside giants are unwilling to spend extra money on the forward but are reportedly prepared to pay a big salary to retain him.

On the hierarchy’s proposal, it may be about £250,000 per week, but with Salah reaching 31 goals last season, he could seek closer to £300,000 per week.
