Henderson and Thiago could both be available for the game against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.

Liverpool will be missing midfielder Fabinho since he has been bereaved.

Klopp has the opportunity to field his strongest side for the first time since the return of Henderson and Thiago.

While assessing his options moving forward, he ultimately decided to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita in last week’s win over Norwich City. Now he must make a choice on whether to change the lineup.

“Much closer,” said Klopp on Henderson and Thiago. “They look fine and we have to make the decision. It was a good training week so it’s up to me to make the decisions.”

On Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain he added: “They are very valuable, all about being available and using the momentum – that’s football. Without luck in life you are often on the wrong side of things and when you get injured in the wrong moment the football train never waits so we have to keep them in the best shape.

“The quality of the players has never been in doubt. Great to have them – when you get the chance you better use it. It will not be the last time.

“There are a lot of good players in our squad and we will change them when necessary.”
