Former Premier League winners Manchester United are reportedly in the final stages of sealing a move for Ajax winger Antony as Erik ten Hag starts his reign at Old Trafford.

Exactly eleven days after the transfer window was officially opened, the Red Devils have not signed a single player, with five stars expected to exit the club upon the expiry of their respective contracts on June 30th.

According to The Sun, Manchester United will on Wednesday send their representatives to Amsterdam for talks ahead of the potential Antony signing.

The 22-year-old forward worked with the current Man United boss in the Dutch top flight league. Antony is capped six times by Brazil and had a good season with Ajax after bagging 12 goals and registering 10 assists in 33 games in all competitions last term.

Antony had earlier communicated the possibility of a reunion with Erik ten Hag in his farewell video to the Dutch manager as he joined the Red Devils earlier this year.

“I am thankful all the opportunities and learning every day,” Antony said.

“Know that I will always stand with you if you need me.”

Elsewhere, Manchester United are also chasing the signature of Portuguese side FC Porto’s forward Evanilson, according to O Jogo.

The tabloid states that Man United have offered a transfer bid of £55m for the 22-year-old player, but it has been rejected.

With 21 goals in 45 games for the club in all competitions last season, Porto have placed the forward’s value at around £70m, scaring off interest from English clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag is on a rebuilding mission at Old Trafford and a number of new signings are expected to be announced.
