Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s time at the club is on the brink of coming to an end after the club lost their chance to win the Europa League for the first time in four years after his side lost to Villareal on Wednesday night.
Losing the Europa League final fueled the anger of United fans who did not shy off from expressing it through their Twitter handles, demanding that he leave the club due to his failure to lift a single trophy since joining the club as a manager in 2018.
Should Solksjaer be sacked, the Glazers will no doubt be looking for a top-class manager in the hope to lift a trophy soon.
Some of the managers that United might turn to include:
The Northern Irish manager has led the Foxes to FA Cup glory this season, and, though they have bottled the chance to play Champions League football twice under Rodgers, he is still one of the best managers in the Premier League.
With all of Rodgers’ sides known for their attacking football, he would bring a plan to the club.
He could be the key when it comes to getting a tune out of the best players currently at Old Trafford.
Despite leading Inter Milan to their first Scudetto in eleven years, the Italian resigned as manager on Wednesday.
Conte has won league titles with Chelsea, Juventus and now Inter Milan. It is no doubt that he might be able to do the job with United.
According to earlier reports, the 51-year-old wanted to manage United, stating how he would love to be the club’s manager.
The three-time UEFA Champions League winner was linked with United after Jose Mourinho’s exit which coincidentally was around the same time Zidane resigned from Real Madrid after winning the 2018 UEFA Champions League.
The move, however, did not happen as United turned to Solksjaer. Zidane has recently announced that he is on his way out of the club, and Manchester United will undoubtedly try to bring him aboard.
The former Juventus manager appears to be Real Madrid’s top choice in case Zidane leaves the club. The Italian has been out of work since leaving Juventus two years ago. He has won titles with both Juventus and AC Milan.
