Raphinha, the Brazilian winger, is reportedly linked to a Liverpool move, and it’s expected given how brilliant his performance at Leeds has been. But even with interest from the Reds’ and perhaps other clubs to sign him, the Whites are hopefully confident they can keep the 25-year old.
Leeds United sporting director, Victor Orta, has been in talks with the winger’s agent for some time, and things seem to be going well, as LeedsLive reports that a deal to retain him is possible.
Leeds manager, Bielsa, termed the talks “a great decision”, which shows he doesn’t want to lose Raphinha, whose contract at Leeds ends in two years. Additionally, Bielsa believes that the Brazilian is the best in his squad in every sense. “Raphinha is the best player in the team in all senses…physically,…technically…very wise,” he praised.
Citing the player’s country, his great EPL display, and the eyes on him worldwide, Bielsa thinks discussions to have Raphinha stay with the Whites is the best decision the club could have made. “…the decision of the club can only be valued, “he reasoned.
The winger helped his side’s victory against in-form West Ham over the weekend and is set to play for Brazil in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
