Rangers manager Michael Beale has hinted that Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe could make their comebacks from injury against HSV – and that Cyriel Dessers could make his first appearance for the club.
The Ibrox boss made these remarks after losing 2-1 to Newcastle United in Allan McGregor’s farewell match, which will excite the Ibrox fans.
The Rangers boss is not getting ahead of himself, but he seems optimistic that the club is overcoming the injury woes that hampered them last season.
“You’ll see Cyriel (Dessers) at the weekend,” explained Michael Beale.
“With Kemar Roofe and maybe Tom Lawrence; maybe I’ll have to hold him back but he’s chomping at the bit to be involved at the weekend as well.
“Kemar trained from the mid-part of Germany and he looks in good shape. Cyriel was late arriving so is a bit behind everyone else, hence not involved tonight.
“We’ve had a really positive summer, we’ve managed everybody really well. I don’t want to say that we’ve got a clean bill of health, because you know what happens in football, but we’re moving in a good direction.”
Rangers suffered a lot from serious injuries and problems to Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe, who are among the best and highest-paid players in Scotland.
It seems that both are recovering faster than expected from their injuries, as Tom Lawrence just joined the Rangers first team training this week.
The Gers spent a hefty £4.5m+ on Cyriel Dessers, who is expected to be the club’s main striker, and fans are eager to see what the Cremonese forward can do.
If all three players are fit for Rangers’ friendly match with HSV, it will be a huge boost for the club’s prospects this season and will increase the enthusiasm for the new campaign.
Rangers already have many attacking options in the team, and Tom Lawrence, Kemar Roofe and Cyriel Dessers will make them even stronger as the new season kicks off.
