Moyes submits transfer dossier to Sullivan as West Ham decision made – report
According to Claret & Hugh, David Moyes will still have the final say on West Ham’s transfers this summer despite the appointment of technical director Tim Steidten.
The website reported on Sunday (15 July) that the boss has that authority because Steidten needs time to adjust to his new job.
Claret & Hugh also said that Moyes has already given a list of transfer targets to David Sullivan.
“David Moyes is set to continue making the major summer window decisions at West Ham as new technical director Tim Steidten spends time settling into his new position,” according to Claret & Hugh.
“Moyes has already handed a list of players he wants at the club to the board where David Sullivan will be making all the financial moves after handing them over control to Moyes last season.”
West Ham have made some poor transfer choices lately, such as Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca, who both disappointed after joining the London Stadium, with neither striker living up to their potential.
Nayef Aguerd and Lucas Paqueta almost joined them, but after some time to adapt, they became key players as the Hammers stayed in the Premier League and won the Europa Conference League trophy.
Now the club should attract more quality players this summer after qualifying for next season’s Europa League, with Moyes under pressure to get things right as Steidten waits for his turn.
But he will soon have his chance to shine, with Hammers fans hoping for big things from their new technical director.
