According to an ex-WHUemployee, West Ham United manager David Moyes is a fan of Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn and would try to bring him to the London Stadium next season.
A host of clubs have shown interest in the Scottish international but will have to face possible opposition as McGinn is a regular starter in Steven Gerrard’s first team at Villa Park.
“McGinn of Aston Villa,” he said.
“Scottish international, Moyes really, really likes him, really likes him and wants him to be a marquee signing in midfield although there is a number of other clubs that are interested in signing him as well,” Ex said on West Ham Way podcast.
West Ham United would boast of a formidable midfield comprising McGinn Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek in the English Premier League next term and in European football.
The Hammers will be forced to spend around £50 million or more on McGinn. However, money may not be an impediment if David Moyes is in need of reinforcing his midfield.
Soucek struggled to impress at West Ham in the recently concluded season compared to the previous summer. The availability of McGinn will arguably be a boost for West Ham United in their quest to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the coming days.
