Midfield sensation Abu Fani could sign for Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in the summer, according to reports from Israel.

Israeli publication One reports that Maccabi Haifa will be open to letting Abu Fani exit the club if he seeks to experience a new challenge elsewhere.

“I want to fulfil a dream,” fani said a few weeks ago.

However, the Israeli international is reportedly looking forward to joining a bigger club than Maccabi Haifa, putting Celtic in a better position to cease the chance after clinching the Scottish Premiership title last season.

Celtic qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stages next season, with Maccabi Haifa failing to play in the particular elite European competition for over ten years.”

I will not go to a team less good than Maccabi Haifa. I’ll only go to a big club where I can progress. Whether I go or not, I have won trophies at Maccabi Haifa and fulfilled a dream.”

The 24-year-old picked up 14 yellow cards in the 2021/2022 season in the Israeli top flight league, proving his physicality in the middle of the park, something that Celtic should be considering heading into the UEFA Champions League season.
