This transfer period, EPL clubs have made headlines not just for their hunger to improve their squads and willingness to do anything to achieve that, but also for how tactically each club is handling their buys and sells.

Following their “frustrating” loss to PSG for Hugo Etikite, Newcastle now eye Chelsea’s Timo Werner for a possible loan deal and are reportedly (i News) the favorites to sign the German if the Blues give the go ahead.

But like the Londoners have done throughout this transfer period with other rumored deals, they’re weighing their options before making a decision on whether to release Werner this summer.

According to i News, Newcastle are ready to pay Werner’s loan fee and part of his wages, while this past weekend’s report by the Daily Mirror claims that Chelsea could include an obligatory buy clause for next summer in the German’s loan deal.

With just 10 goals in 56 matches for the 2022 FA Cup finalists, Timo is reportedly “deperate” to perform better in the EPL, so perhaps moving to another team will present him with that chance in the form of more game time.

Should Chelsea decide to deal, Newcastle are understandably the favorites, seeing how much and how readily they have offered for their new additions this transfer window.

Whether or not it’s Werner’s signature, Eddie Howe targets at least another forward (as he admitted last week) before his boys face Nottingham Forest, who have new signings to spare in their EPL season opener this Saturday.
