As they continue their search for a new goalkeeper this summer, Newcastle United are now interested in Brighton and Hove Albion’s Robert Sanchez.
According to The Sun, Newcastle is planning a £20 million bid to acquire Sanchez before the end of the summer.
In light of the uncertainty surrounding Martin Dubravka, Eddie Howe is rumored to be interested in bringing in a new goalkeeper this summer.
Dean Henderson, Kepa and Leno have been heavily linked to Newcastle in recent weeks as the Magpies search for a long-term solution.
Although Sanchez has emerged as a new contender, Newcastle appears to be ready to make a significant bid for the Spaniard.
Sanchez was a loanee at Rochdale in 2020. It wasn’t until September 2021 that Sanchez made his national team debut for Spain.
With Graham Potter, the Brighton manager, hailing Sanchez as “fantastic,” Sanchez has the ability to be both sublime and ridiculous with the ball in his hands. Sanchez is also an excellent crosser.
Newcastle has made a habit of pursuing Brighton’s star players, and Sanchez is the latest example.
Do not be surprised if Brighton makes a huge demand for Sanchez just for the sake of sending Newcastle a message.
The £20million offer for Sanchez may not even be enough for Brighton to convince Newcastle that they can get their hands on their two most important players.
