According to 90min, Nottingham Forest and Stuttgart have reached an agreement for the Belgian midfielder Orel Mangala to join the club.
On Monday, negotiations were well under way for a deal that would cost Forest €12 million (£10.2 million) up front and the remaining €7.5 million (£12.75 million) in add-ons.
Mangala is on his way to Forest for a medical and, should all go according to plan, would join the team as its thirteenth summer addition after Stuttgart agreed to those terms.
Jesse Lingard, Neco Williams, Guilian Biancone, Omar Richards, Moussa Niakhate, Harry Toffolo, Lewis O’Brien, Wayne Hennessey, Brandon Aguilera, and Ryan Hammond have already signed contracts with Steve Cooper’s team. Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has also joined on loan.
O’Brien is the only natural midfielder among that bunch, but Mangala’s arrival will increase the battle for playing time in a midfield that has been without James Garner since his loan from Manchester United expired this summer.
Forest, who are also not quite ready to wrap up their summer business, had an offer for Real Betis left-back Alex Moreno rejected.
The 29-year-old is valued significantly differently by the two parties right now, and a trade is unlikely to be pursued further.
