Nyamira teacher wins KES24 million Sportpesa midweek jackpot
Seth Mokua is the latest millionaire in town after bagging the Sportpesa midweek jackpot, predicting 13 correct outcomes out of 13 selected games on the cards to win KES24,665,485.
A teacher by profession hailing from Nyamira county, Mokua placed his bet worth KES297 only to walk away with millions after several attempts. The tutor had initially won KES13, 000 bonus after predicting 10 correct outcomes out of 13 fixtures.
Speaking to the press, Mokua advised punters to bet responsibly by separating money meant for basic needs from those used in gaming. He further revealed that he only bets during his free time with a reasonable betting stake.

He also expressed his gratitude to Sportpesa for giving millions of bettors countrywide an equal opportunity to win big, especially in these biting economic times;
“This thing is real, let people continue trying, provided they do it responsibly. I would like to thank Sportpesa for giving us this chance to try our luck. You never know when your time will come, God’s time is the best!”
Further, he told fellow teachers and gamblers in general to set aside time for betting, not to do gaming during working hours.
“Bet right and during your free time, for me I do it during break time and the weekend. I started betting in 2018 but occasionally when I’m free.”
Before taking home the mouthwatering midweek jackpot, Mokua had won KES68,000 two weeks ago, affirming that luck has been tracing him all along.

Mokua, a Shabana FC supporter was unveiled as the Sportpesa midweek jackpot winner during a Football Kenya Federation Premier League tie pitting home side Murang’a Seal and Kakamega Homeboyz at the St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a on Saturday, where the former side beat the latter 1-0 to record their second successive victory in the country’s top tier league.
Man of the match Titus Kapchanga scored the lone goal in the 80th minute to hand Seals maximum points before their home supporters after both sides failed to break the deadlock in the betterpart of the encounter.
After finishing second in the 2022/2023 National Super League campaign, Murang’a Seal defeated Shabana FC by a similar margin in their opening fixture of the current FKF Premier League season last weekend at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay county, recording a sweet revenge against the NSL champions away.
Meanwhile, in other Saturday FKF Premier League fixtures, defending champions Gor Mahia beat Ulinzi Stars 1-0 at Ulinzi Sports Complex while Tusker FC were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Kariobangi Sharks at the Ruaraka Stadium.
Murang’a Seal who are sponsored by betting firm Sportpesa climbed to the summit of the 2023/2024 Football Kenya Federation Premier League standings with six points in two outings after the Saturday’s outcome. Posta Rangers, Nzoia Sugar FC, Gor Mahia and Tusker FC close the top five rankings with four points each respectively.
Bottom of the table are Ulinzi Stars with zero points in two outings.
