Four Lads Had A Dream’s Stevie Clifford thinks that Rangers would hit the “jackpot” if they can get £4million or more for Glen Kamara from Leeds United this summer.
Last Word on Sports claimed on Monday (17 July) that the Ibrox midfielder has settled personal terms with the English second-tier club over a potential move.
The 4th Official also gave an update via Patreon the same day suggesting a deal was near and that the fee was likely to begin at £4m before extras and clauses are added.
Reacting to reported progress towards a Leeds United deal Four Lads posted on Twitter: “£4m – £5m is a jackpot win.”
In response to a follow up question from a Gers fan Clifford explained that it is a “hope” rather than any inside information, but is fully in favour of the possible sale to Elland Road.
Kamara’s role in the Rangers team has reduced over the past year and Michael Beale has already brought in multiple signings to the midfield area.
So while the Finnish international is a more than competent option to have at the club it seems like it is time for him to get a new challenge and for the Light Blues to bring some money in.
The 27-year-old was seen as the most valuable asset heading into the window and, while Antonio Colak has already gone to Parma for a handy £2.5m fee [Scottish Sun, 15 July], if Kamara heads to Leeds for the suggested price it would prove true.
With the manager still looking to add the likes of Jose Cifuentes, Jonathan Panzo and Danilo before the window closes it would be very helpful for his budget to be increased by that amount.
While Leeds are close to signing Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea they have already lost three of their four senior midfielders from last season so Kamara should get a good chance there if the deal goes through.
This has the potential to be a rare transfer where every party involved comes away satisfied, so there appears plenty of reason for it to get done
