If there’s something Jesse Marsch’s Leeds need improvement in, it’s their defense, most especially the left-back section.

The Whites’ defence was clearly faulty and worrying last season, and things got worse in late April when “Ironman” Stuart Dallas fractured his femur against Manchester City, likely ruling him out until the end of the calendar year.

But with versatile Junior Firpo’s pre-season injury last week, Marsch needs an immediate solution, which Leeds reportedly sought in Stoke City’s defender, Josh Tymon.

According to the Daily Mail on July 14th, 2022, Elland Road’s director of football, Victor Orta, has made a move for the 23-year old.

It was earlier reported that Leeds offered 6 million euros to Stoke for the former England U-23, who had a fantastic season with the championship side last season that saw him involved in 5 goals.

Tymon’s defensive prowess, especially with tackles, interceptions and clearances, will prove helpful to Leeds, whose choices in defence now include or maybe are limited to an off-form Leif Davis.

The two sides haven’t confirmed a final decision yet, though, so Marsch’s worries are far from over.

It would probably still be acceptable and reasonable for the Peacocks to acquire Josh for an additional few millions given his form right now.

Furthermore, the season is just around the corner, and Marsch’s side, as it is right now, is most probably not ready for a Premier League campaign.
