Lucas Paqueta acknowledges that West Ham have not put in enough effort and admits to feeling anxious but asserts that the situation is improving.

West Ham faced intense pressure before their match against Newcastle United on Saturday night, following surprise victories for Everton and Wolves.

The match did not start well for West Ham, with a goal by Joe Wilock being ruled out by VAR in the first minute, followed by a goal from Callum Wilson.

Despite the early setback, West Ham fought back and equalized with a goal from Paqueta, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

The result, combined with previous wins over Everton and Derby, marks a positive step forward for West Ham.

Paqueta’s goal was a positive outcome, especially after West Ham’s manager David Moyes criticized him for a lack of goals and assists prior to the game.

In a recent interview, Paqueta spoke about his and the team’s struggles, acknowledging that they have not worked hard enough, but says that the team is finally putting in the effort needed to get results. He also admitted that his lack of goals has made him anxious.

“I’m very happy with the goal,” Paqueta told West Ham’s official website.

“It’s something I’ve been striving for and you feel a bit anxious to get that goal. I’m happy to have scored and to help the team get an important point.

“I’m feeling more and more at ease in the team, connecting with my teammates and I hope that from here on out I can do my best, I can help the team and we can get positive results.

“I think we’ve started to play a little better, we’ve started to understand each other more on the pitch and we’re working harder. And I think we reaped the fruits of that with the result we got, which was an important point, and the other victories we have had in recent weeks.”
