According to the club’s correspondent, Phil Hay, midfielder Marc Roca is most likely to join English Premier League side Leeds United in the summer.
The left-footed midfielder joined Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich from Spanish LaLiga outfit Espanyol in 2020. However, the 25-year-old star has struggled for game time at Bayern, registering only 24 appearances with the Allianz Arena giants in the process.
Sharing the report with the Athletic, Hay was the first person to break the news concerning Leeds United’s interest in Roca. If the move materializes, the player in demand will be the third acquisition of the Yorkshire-based side after the arrival of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen at Elland Road earlier.
Replying to a Leeds United supporter on Twitter, Hay said; “It’s highly likely to happen, however, it’s not wrapped up yet.”
Reports coming from Spain are rife, saying Roca could be on his way to Leeds United for an estimated fee of £11.1m to £12.8m.
Meanwhile, things have not been working well for the midfielder as his transfer market valuation has drastically fallen from £27m to £6.3m in the last three years.
With Leeds United trying as much as they can to keep Kalvin Philips in their backyard, Marc Roca will form a formidable partnership with Philips if the Whites’ plan comes to pass.
